Anestor

Antestor (from the Latin “Witness” ) is a Norwegian Christian black metal band that was formed in 1990 in the city of Jessheim . Initially, it was called "Crush Evil" (from the English. "Destruction of Evil" ). This group became the founder of the Christian black metal genre, which began with the demo album The Defeat of Satan ( 1991 ). The group formed at a time when bands such as Mayhem and Emperor became popular. The group named the genre of their music “Sorrow metal” (from the English “Sad Metal” ), as the band members did not like the popularity of satanic and neopagan music, and decided to protest against the anti-Christian ideology of black metal. Other black metal bands, learning about the existence of a band such as Crush Evil, began to send threats to her. In particular, Euronymus said that he would do everything to ensure that the group Crush Evil broke up. However, nothing of the kind happened.

At the moment, Antestor is the only Christian team to release their first album on the independent label Cacophonous Records , where bands such as Dimmu Borgir , Sigh and Cradle of Filth released their albums with completely different lyrics. Black metal artists such as Darkthrone , Dimmu Borgir , Burzum and Satyricon influenced the band.

The fourth Omen album was released on November 30, 2012. It was recorded and mixed in Sweden. Guitarist Thor left the band to focus on higher education, but said he could return if the opportunity arose. In early 2013, the group first held a tour in Brazil. There was shot the first clip in the history of the group from the album Omen to the song Unchained. In 2013, the group began to compose songs for the new album. Which was never recorded.

The musicians are busy in other bands. In particular, Ronnie Hansen and Yo Henning Burven are engaged in the group of Thor Georg Buehr, Grave Declaration.
