Biography

Born into a Jewish family. By mother - Eddie Rosner 's nephew. During World War II, he first worked at the Oscar Schindler’s factory ( Schindler’s list ), and later was sent to the Auschwitz-Brzezink concentration camp. He is one of the youngest prisoners of Auschwitz who survived imprisonment.

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Since 1959 he lives in New York in the USA .

Pupil Alexei Brodovich . He worked in many advertising agencies as an art director. In 1967 he opened his own photo agency . His photographs are known throughout the world.

  • 2014 - commander with a star of the Order of the Renaissance of Poland [1] .
  • 2010 - Honorary Doctor of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts
  • 2008 - Gold Medal "For Merits in the Culture of Gloria Artis" (Poland) [2] .
  • 2002 - INTERNATIONAL GUTENBERG AWARDS (Montreal, Canada) Gold Medal
  • 1996 - Officer of the Order of Merit in front of the Republic of Poland [3] .
