Urmila

Urmila is the daughter of the ruler of Mithila, King Janaki, and the younger sister of Sita in the Hindu epic Ramayana . Urmila was the wife of Lakshmana , Rama's younger brother. They had two sons, Angad and Dharmaketu.

According to one version, after Lakshmana went to exile with Rama for 14 years, Urmila went into a yoga trance and lost consciousness. Consciousness returned to her only after her husband returned home. Thus, she seemed to take on all the fatigue of Lakshman, who faithfully and tirelessly served Rama and Sita during the entire period of their exile in the forest.
