Kyoto International Manga Museum ( 京都 国際 マ ン ガ ミ ュ ー ジ ア ム Kyo: Kokusai Manga Mu: Jiamu ) is a museum located in Kyoto , Japan . It was opened on November 25, 2006 and is a joint venture of Kyoto City and Kyoto . In addition, the manga museum is a research center for scientists. The museum's collection includes 200 thousand copies of the manga, including rare post-war books and magazines from the Meiji period , in particular, the 1874 Eshinbun Nihonchi manga magazine. From the first to the third floor, the “Manga Wall” is located, which consists mainly of publications published after the 1970s and includes the most popular works, including One Piece , Nana, and Naruto . The museum is divided into several sectors: a gallery, a research sector and the collection itself, an exhibition hall, a shop and a manga cafe . It works every day, except on Wednesdays, from 10:00 to 18:00, until 17:30 visitors are allowed.
