Soluble in ethanol and organic solvents , insoluble in water.
Contained in the essential oil of the seeds of the shrub Abelmoschus moschatus L. , which grows in the tropics. This oil is one of the most expensive, and it is used only for the preparation of higher grades of perfumery products [1] .
