Biography

Born February 17, 1949 in the city of Kherson (at that time the Ukrainian Socialist Republic as part of the USSR ) with Sergei Ionovich Prokhorov and Olga Antonovna Prokhorova (nee Chinaev). The family had four children: Victor and three daughters (Svetlana, Love and the youngest Olga).

Victor went to school at the age of six, and in 1965 he entered the Moscow State University at the Department of Philosophy (later reorganized into the Department of Psychology). At the age of 19 ( 1968 ), in order to get a job in a theater-studio at Moscow State University “Our House Theater”, he was transferred to the evening department, but in the autumn of that year, being caught by a military patrol on the street, he was forced to go to the Army . For the next two years he served in the Air Defense Forces in Kazakhstan . At the age of 21 years ( 1970 ) they are demobilized in the rank of foreman.

Upon his return from the army, Victor through the personnel department of the film studio Mosfilm gets the post of assistant director on the movie "Coot" (director A. Chemodurov). At the same film project, he gets another position - the second director of a parallel group.

The next project, where Victor works as the second director, is “ They Fought for the Motherland ” (director S. F. Bondarchuk ), during the shooting period of which he graduates from the Faculty of Psychology of Moscow State University .

In 1972 , at the age of 21, Victor entered the correspondence department at the Leningrad Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography at the directing department.

After finishing work on the film “ They Fought for the Homeland ”, she enters the two-year higher courses of directors and scriptwriters of cinema at the USSR Goskino at the department “cinema director” with a separation from production (workshop of R. Viktorov ). In 1977 he graduated from both educational institutions. Thesis - "Dead Man's Guard".

Then, at the experimental debut youth creative association (EMTO), Victor will shoot the short film Boomerang as a director (script by A. Lapshin ).

Then follows the work of the second director on the movie “ Taste of Bread ” (director - A. Sakharov ).
