Gediminas Leonovich Taranda ( lit. Gediminas Taranda ; born February 26, 1961 , Kaliningrad , RSFSR , USSR ) - Russian (formerly Soviet ) ballet dancer of Lithuanian descent, soloist of the Bolshoi ballet (until 1993), entrepreneur and actor .

Biography
He was born on February 26, 1961 in Kaliningrad , where his father Leonas served as a colonel. According to his father, Gediminas is a Lithuanian , his mother (Solovyov’s maiden name) is from Cossacks . When the parents of Gediminas divorced, the mother moved with her children to Voronezh . As a child, Taranda did a lot of wrestling [1] .
Gediminas’s mother worked as an accountant in the Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theater , and he reviewed all the performances. Under the influence of this, in 1974 he entered the Voronezh Choreographic School . In 1976 he entered the Moscow Choreographic School . By distribution, I got to the Bolshoi Theater .
In the editions of the performances of Yuri Grigorovich " Raymond " and " Golden Age " Taranda performed the parts of Abderakhman and Yashka. In 1984, he first appeared on tour abroad - in Mexico. After that, four years he was not allowed to travel abroad. In 1993 , he was dismissed from the Bolshoi Theater.
In 1994 he created the troupe " Imperial Russian Ballet " [2] . There are 40 people in the troupe, 15 ballets in the theater repertoire. In 2004 he was accepted into the staff of the Mossovet Theater as an actor.
Since 2012, he has been a co-founder of the Cultural and Educational Movement “Promotion of Creative Education” foundation. He is the president of the Grand Pa ballet festival.
Personal life
Married with a third marriage. Wife - ballet dancer Anastasia Drigo, daughter - Deimante (born 2004). There is also an illegitimate daughter Elizabeth (1994), born as a result of a random novel by Gediminas Taranda and the host of the TV program Good Morning , Marina Baranova [3] .
