The International Rowing Federation (FISA) ( French Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Aviron (FISA) ) is an organization dedicated to the development of rowing in the world. Improves the competition system, holds world championships , oversees international competitions and works on the development of the sport, expanding the geography, improving the rules of competitions, methods for preparing rowing equipment and developing water tourism. This work is carried out by the relevant commissions as part of FISA.

History
FISA was founded on June 25, 1892 in Turin by representatives of France , Switzerland , Belgium and Italy in response to the growing popularity of rowing, and as a result, the need for unification of rules regarding issues such as distance length, boat design and weight categories.
The first regatta organized by FISA was the European Championship , which was held in 1893 in Horta, Italy.
FISA established its headquarters in Lausanne , Switzerland in 1922 .
FISA became the first international sports federation to join the Olympic movement to participate in the first Olympic Games of our time in 1896. Each country has its own Federation or regulatory body that belongs to the FISA Congress.
