Kossackaya, Elizaveta Rafailovna

Elizaveta Rafailovna Kossetskaya , Kosetskaya (nee Belweiss ; Bykov's husband,? - 1910) is an opera and chamber singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Biography

In 1870–1873, she studied singing at the St. Petersburg Conservatory (class J. Corsi ), moreover, there she studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and took lessons from Vasily Samus .

She debuted in 1874 in the party Zibelya (" Faust "). In 1874-1875 she performed on the stage of the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theater . In 1875, cultivated in Italy. from 1875 - the soloist of the Kiev Opera, in 1878 she returned to the Mariinka Theater, but already in 1880 - the soloist of the Kazan Opera. In 1885 she performed in the St. Petersburg Music and Drama Circle (Kononov Hall).

A. S. Famitsyn wrote about Kosetskaya’s performance in Zerlina’s party in “Fra-Diavolo”: “The natural liveliness, the natural, though not yet developed stage talent, the sympathy of the timbre and the sonority of her voice unwittingly favor the listeners in favor of the new singer.”

The composer and music critic Ts. A. Cui noted that “Mrs. Kosetskaya is the most charming Olga. Every time I see her in a new role, I’m convinced that in her Russian opera has made a precious acquisition. What a golden voice, what a lovely performance! ”

Repertoire

The 1st performer on the Russian scene of the parties: Venus ( “Tannhäuser” , 1874), Eglantina (“Euryant”). Other parties: Anna Pedge ( Falstaff ), Siebel, Margaret ( Faust ), Zerlina (Fra-Diavolo, or Hotel in Terracina).

The 1st performer of the aria "Our Redeemer Will Die for Us" from Bach 's oratorio Matthew Passion.

The concerts of the St. Petersburg branch of the Imperial Russian Musical Society were performed by the aria of Ankhen from the opera Weber ’s Free Shooter , Rubinstein ’s II part of the Paradise Lost Paradise oratorio, and the aria from the Prophet by Meyerbeer

She performed romances by M. Balakirev , E. Napravnik and others. She took part in concerts of the Russian Merchant Society: in a music and dance concert in favor of insufficient students of the Medical-Surgical Academy performed Balakirev 's romance “Come to Me” with Mussorgsky's accompaniment.
