Biography

Herbert Rosendorfer was born on February 19, 1934 in the village of Gris (now included in the Bolzano line), in South Tyrol . In 1939 - 1943 he lived in Munich , in 1943 he was evacuated to Kitzbühel , in 1948 he returned to Munich. After graduating from school, Rosendorfer studied painting at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts for a year, but then entered the law faculty of the University of Munich . In 1967 - 1993, Rosendorfer served as a judge in Munich, and from 1993 to 1997 , judge of the Higher Land Court in Naumburg . In parallel with 1990 , he taught contemporary literature at the University of Munich as a visiting professor. After retiring in 1997 , Rosendorfer moved to South Tyrol , where he lived in Eppan until his death on September 20, 2012. [one]

Rozendorfer is a member of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts and the Academy of Science and Literature in Mainz , winner of numerous German literary awards.

In addition to numerous novels and short stories, Rosendorfer also owns plays, television scripts, historical studies, guides and treatises on music. Some of his works belong to the genre of science fiction, but he often uses elements of satire and grotesque in his realistic and historical works.
