Counterstrike is a drum and base collective from South Africa . The group played a significant role in the development of drum and bass in Africa and beyond. They play in the genres tekstep and darkstep .

Project participants: Justin Scholtmeyer ( English Justin Scholtemeyer aka Animal Chin ) and Eaton Kraus ( English Eaton Crous aka 500 Mills ). In the mid-nineties, they played a lot at home and abroad. Later they visited England , Germany , Norway , Poland , Belgium , the Netherlands , Austria , Slovakia , Switzerland . Counterstrike as a collective was formed in 1998 . The team is distinguished by a heavy "dark" sound with characteristic "loading" bass lines. At the same time, most tracks have a high BPM value, which makes Counterstrike music very dynamic and energetic. Some tracks, on the contrary, have a very “broken” beat , but in any case, the group has its own style and is easily recognizable. Some Counterstrike songs use vocal samples and heavy guitar riffs .

We work together because we have the same type of sound ... and it doesn’t matter if we made the track together or separately ... it still sounds like Counterstrike .
