History
Tikhonkaya Station, 170 km from Khabarovsk and 7800 km from Moscow, appeared in 1912 with the construction of the Amur Railway . It was allegedly named after the name of the hunter who lived near the hill. In 1928, the first settlers began to arrive. In 1931, the station and the working village were renamed Birobidzhan.
Environment
In front of the reconstructed station, there is a station square with a fountain, a monument to immigrants and the traditional Jewish symbol of the Golden Menorah - a lamp of faith. At the station itself there are inscriptions in two languages - Yiddish and Russian.
Enterprises: cargo yard, regional center of company transport services, Birobidzhan distance of the track (ПЧ-2) and distance of signaling, centralization and blocking, fire train Birobidzhan.
A 125-kilometer branch departs from the station to the village of Nizhneleninskoye (Leninsk station) to the border crossing from the PRC .
