Biography

Born in 1911 in the village of Troitsk now in the Bashmakovsky district of the Penza region , Russia (according to other sources - in the village of Shipunovo, Shipunovsky district of the Altai Territory [1] ) in a peasant family. Russian Member of the CPSU since 1940 . After finishing four grades of primary school, he worked in the village.

In 1932, drafted into the ranks of the Red Army . In 1936 he graduated from junior lieutenant courses. In 1942, the Higher Rifle Tactical Improvement Courses for the infantry command personnel Shot . On the fronts of World War II from July 1942 . He took part in the Battle of Stalingrad , the battle of Kursk , the Chernihiv-Pripyat offensive operation .

In July 1943, on the Kursk Bulge, the battalion of Captain Maxin’s Guard destroyed 18 enemy tanks in five days of fighting. During the Chernihiv-Pripyat operation he took part in the liberation of the cities of Glukhov ( Sumy region ), Bakhmach ( Chernihiv region ). He died in battle on September 14, 1943 in the area of ​​the villages of Yevlashevka (now Krasnoselskoye) and Komarovka of the Borznyansky district of the Chernihiv region . He was buried in a mass grave in the village of Komarovka .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 16, 1943, Captain Xenophon Pavlovich Maksin was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously) for exemplary execution of combat missions of command and the courage and heroism of the guard shown.
