History

The village of Poletayevo was founded in 1744-1763 by Don [1] Cossacks and peasants (the name is by the name of the first settler) [3] . After 1873, the settlement of Poletaevo-2 stood out from Poletaevo [3] . In 1891, a railway passed through Poletaevo (a junction was arranged) [1] . In 1914, a stone station building was built, which still exists [1] .

The status of an urban-type settlement is from 1973 [3] to 2008.
