Durtsurf ( eng. Dirtsurf , lit. “Landing, surfing on the ground”), also known as an in-line board ( Eng. In-line board , lit. “board in line”) - a sports equipment designed for high-speed descent from slopes and mountains , kite or kiting , as well as performing various jumps and tricks. Possible installation of windsurfing sails. Skating is possible on any surface: from paved roads of mountain serpentines to unprepared grass or dirt slopes. The in-line board is a combined design consisting of a front and rear frame with bicycle-type wheels installed in them, a base - a deck, on which foot mounts are installed. The GP16 and GP20 models did not have an elastic deck, but were based on a solid frame. The front wheel of the in-line board is fixed in a special self-orienting suspension (fork) and is capable of turning when the projectile is tilted. The rear wheel is equipped with a disc brake (sometimes a V-brake). Braking is done by pressing the lower leg with the shin on a special brake bar. Also, some models have an automatic braking system when a rider falls.

History
The board was designed in Australia in 2001 by Graeme Attey. Graham is known as an avid surfer and professional in motocross. Dertserf received a foreign patent and was issued only by Graham (production facilities are located in China). The boards are currently manufactured by Dirtsurfer Canada. The patented Dirtsurfer trademark has become a household name for all such devices (the correct name for an online board is used much less frequently). The first board with the designation GP (general purpose - general purpose) had a solid aluminum frame in three color options: black, red and blue. There was no brake on the rear wheel in the first issues. The next GP-X was released with a silver anodized aluminum frame. In 2003, the manufacturer introduced a flexible deck made of composite materials, which allowed the board to effectively dampen vibrations and behave better in jumps and tricks. In 2006, two new models were launched: FS (freestyle) with a short deck and 16-inch wheels and DH (downhill) with a standard-size deck and 20-inch wheels. For reference: dirtsurfer inline board is recognized as the fastest board of all participating in the International Gravity Games (IGSA). In Russia, the company was first introduced in 2006 at the Velopark exhibition.
Board Types
The FS board (freestyle) went into serial production in 2006. The FS frame is shorter and lighter than the DH, 16 dm wheels. The board is perfect for riders with low weight and for fans of jumps and tricks. The board has a thermofiber deck. Such decks from this year are installed on both FS and DH. Decks are made in Australia. The new deck is much stronger than previous models. And at the same time it has improved shock absorption and spring characteristics. The new aluminum brake bar is designed according to the wishes of riders. This is not even a bar, but rather an arc. There are two options for installing the arc - for relaxed skating and for aggressive skating. And now riders with small stature can also brake without problems. Rear wheel brake disc ADC-4.5. The new foot loops in 2006 are available in two versions. Standart is one and a half times wider than 2005 models. Deluxe is twice as wide as 2005 models and is fixed by a steel plate. With new loops, the board is well controlled both on a slope and in a jump. The board is painted in Gunmetal Gray color (gun metal). Board weight 7 kg.
The DH board (downhill) has been developed over the past three years. The basis was taken board FlexiPro. The same size and the same wheels at 20 dm. This board is more focused on downhill. It has a standard-sized deck, and due to the larger mass than FS, it has better stability at high speeds. Other specifications are similar to the FS model. The board is painted in bright yellow. Board weight 10 kg.
Driving Technique
Unlike a skateboard, a freeboard and a mountainboard , a dertsurf rider interacts with a supporting surface without the participation of suspensions. This gives certain advantages in controlling the board at high speed, the absence of spurious oscillations of the projectile. According to rider reviews, it is the dertsurf that gives the feeling of “flying” above the surface, similar to a snowboard.
In practice, you can ride a dertsurf on any flat surface like a skateboard. Only the pushing leg is the front, not the back. After the experience of skateboarding, the first time is very unusual. But this is a matter of practice. People with little experience accelerate to 25-30 km / h.
But if you have a slide nearby, you can try your hand at downhill. The board accelerates very quickly and thanks to well-thought-out geometry it is very easy to control. A disc brake is mounted on the rear wheel. Press on the brake bar with the calf of the hind leg. The front wheel is mounted in a special gyroscopic fork and is perfectly controlled by tilting the board to one or the other side.
The board is confidently controlled at high speeds of 50-70 km / h. In the ski resort of Krasnaya Polyana, riders accelerated to 100 km / h. And the record for speed on the dertsurf is 145 km / h. Established by German rider Nihat, world champion 2004 according to IGSA. Nihat and pro-rider Markus were in Moscow in March 2006 and gave a master class to Russian riders.
The disadvantages of dertserf include the inability to ride backwards (in the "switch").
