Education

He studied at an elementary school in the city of Dzhambul ( Kazakh SSR ). He completed secondary education in 1966 upon his return to his historical homeland in the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . In 1970 he graduated from the History Department of the Chechen-Ingush State Pedagogical Institute . He graduated from the graduate school of the Institute of History, Archeology and Language of the Dagestan Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences ( Makhachkala ), where in 1978 he defended his thesis on "Relations between the peoples of Chechen-Ingushetia and Russia in the 18th century." In 1990, he defended his doctoral dissertation in Rostov-on-Don, “The Peoples of the North Caucasus in the Foreign Policy of Russia, Iran and the Ottoman Empire (XVI - the first quarter of the XVIII century)." Scientific and educational activities

He was a history teacher in a secondary school in the village of Goity of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR in 1970-1971. In 1971 he was invited to work in the Chechen-Ingush Republican Museum of Local Lore . In 1972-1975 he completed postgraduate studies at the Institute of History, Archeology and Language of the Dagestan Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (Makhachkala). He continued his research activities in 1977 at the Chechen-Ingush Scientific Research Institute under the Council of Ministers of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. The result of his 12-year work at the institute are dozens of articles, the first volume of the History of Chechnya, a collection of documents Russian-Chechen Relations in the 18th Century, and two school textbooks, The History of Chechen-Ingushetia.

From 1990 to 2003, he was a professor at Chechen State University . In 2001 he was elected an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic. Since 2004 - Member of the Dissertation Council of the Chechen State University. Now he works in the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic and in the Comprehensive Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Grozny).

Akhmadov's scientific interests include: the history of Chechnya, the politics of the great powers in the Caucasus in the 16th – 19th centuries, the problems of ethnopolitical history and historical geography of the Caucasus, modern geopolitical and socio-political processes in the Caucasus and Russia.

In 1990, he made a report at an international conference in Oxford ( United Kingdom ), dedicated to the life and work of the famous spiritual leader of Chechnya of the 19th century Sheikh Kunt-Haji Kishiev .

Over the years of scientific activity, he has published over 160 scientific papers, including 20 monographs and study guides. Political Activities

In 1993, he was a member of the Council of National and Civil Accord of the Chechen Republic, a consultative and coordinating body that brought together representatives of the parliamentary opposition to President Dzhokhar Dudaev , leaders of several movements and parties, as well as part of the opposition-minded intelligentsia .

In 1994-1996 he participated in the political struggle against dudaevschina, served as Minister of Information and Press of the Chechen Republic in the Government of Public Confidence of Chechnya, from 2000 to 2002 he headed the Territorial Administration of the Press Ministry for the Chechen Republic.
