General information about the village
The origin of the village name
According to the most linguistically sound etymology, the word Arapuҫ means the beginning of the Arya River.
History
The first mention of the settlement dates back to the XIV century. Until 1926 it was called Old Arabosi ( Chuvash. Kivě Arapuҫ ) and belonged to the Tsivilsky district of the Kazan province (until 1920), from June 24, 1920 - the Chuvash Autonomous Okrug , from April 21, 1925 - the Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . Since 1927, the village has been included in the Urmarsky district .
On May 29, 2014, the book of the famous Chuvash local historian S. Guriev, “The History of the Village of Arabosi” [1] [2] was presented.
Nature and relaxation
The village is surrounded by forests. On the territory of the settlement there are a large number of lakes and ponds (up to 1 km in length).
Geography
The village of Arabosi is located 5 km southeast of the administrative center of Urmarsky district , in the eastern part of the Republic of Chuvashia .
Residential development of the Arabosinsky settlement is currently concentrated in separately located villages and is mainly a system of rectangular neighborhoods. Basically, the Arabosin rural settlement is built up with one-story manor houses, and has a low density. The stone fund is concentrated on individual streets of the villages of the settlement, where administrative institutions, cultural facilities, trade and public catering are located. Around the villages are agricultural land of various forms of ownership.
The village-wide center is located in the administrative center of Greater Arabosi .
Climate
The climate is temperate continental with long cold winters and warm summers.

The population is 2052 people (2007). Of them:
