History
1994—2011
The franchise originates in St. Paul ( Minnesota ). From 1994 to 1996, the IHL Minnesota Mus Club played in this city. But in 1996, the club moved to Winnipeg (since the NHL Winnipeg Jets team, in turn, moved to Phoenix ) and became known as Manitoba Mus. The club played in the IHL until 2001, when the IHL itself was liquidated. In 2001–2011, Manitoba Mus acted in the AHL, being a farm club Vancouver Canucks . The team was in the AHL playoffs in 9 seasons out of 10 in the league, and the most successful was the 2008/09 season - Manitoba reached the Calder Cup final (where she lost to Hershey Bers with a score of 2: 4 in the series) and also showed the best result in the regular championship of the AHL (winning the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy ).
2011 - present vr.
In connection with the relocation of the Atlanta Thrashers NHL club to Winnipeg on June 2, 2011, it was announced that the AHL Manitoba Mus Club is moving to St. John’s ( Newfoundland and Labrador ). St. John's IceCaps became the farm club of the re-created NHL team Winnipeg Jets and spent four seasons in this status.
However, in 2015, the leadership of the Jets decided to transfer the farm club to Winnipeg, recreating the Moose [1] .
