Jacques Qurantin Royou ( fr. Jacques Corentin Royou ; 1745 - 1828 ) - French historian and writer.

During the revolution he was an employee of royalist magazines; 18 fructidore sent in exile; during the empire he was a lawyer, after restoration - a censor. Compiled a number of useful compilations:
- Histoire ancienne ( 1802 ),
- "Histoire romaine" ( 1806 ),
- "Histoire des empereurs romains" ( 1808 ),
- Histoire du Bas-Empire ( 1813 ),
- Histoire de France ( 1819 );
the latter is written in the spirit of anti-clerical monarchism. Royu’s two tragedies - “Phocion” ( 1817 ) and “La mort de César” ( 1825 ) - failed completely.
His brother, abbot of ( 1741 - 1792 ), wrote: “Monde de verre” ( 1780 , critic of Buffon), “Mémoire pour m-me de Valory” ( 1783 ), “Etrennes aux beaux-esprits "( 1785 ).
Their relative Frederick Royu (died around 1825) wrote a number of political brochures.
