Biography
Constance Bennett was born in New York in a family of actors Adrianne Morrison and Richard Bennett. In addition to her, the family had two more daughters - Barbara and Joan , who also became actresses.
In her youth, she wanted to go to the monastery, but the desire for acting prevailed and she followed in the footsteps of her parents. Her debut took place in 1916 in one of the silent films. In the next few years, Bennett continued to act until she got married and left the cinema in 1925. Her return to the cinema took place after a divorce in 1929 and already in sound films. In a short time, Constance Bennett made great strides on the big screen thanks to his roles in the films The Easiest Way (1931) and How Much Does Hollywood Cost? (1932).
In the 1940s, the actress became already less in demand on the big screen, but continued to work a lot in the theater and on the radio. At the same time, she earned a great fortune thanks to her own cosmetics and clothing company. Her last film role was the mother-in-law of the heroine Lana Turner in the drama "Madame X", which was released in 1966 after the death of Constance Bennett from a brain hemorrhage in July 1965. Being the wife of a brigadier general, the actress was buried at Arlington Cemetery in Washington . Her contribution to the development of the American film industry is marked by a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame , which is located near her sister's star Joan Bennett .
