The Fair Play Prize was established by the editorial board of the Sovetsky Sport newspaper in 1958. It was awarded to a team whose players received the least amount of disciplinary punishment in the USSR football championship . The last time the prize was awarded in 1969, later - in 1974 - a similar prize was established - " Fair Play ".
