Chemical composition (Ca, Co, Mg 3 ) As 2 O 8 · 2H 2 O. Easily soluble in acids.
The mineral is named after Gustav Rosa, professor of mineralogy at the University of Berlin.
First found near Schneeberg in Saxony in the form of small crystals. It was rare enough. A rich deposit of roselite and erythrin was found later in Morocco , where it is still being developed.
Due to its bright and saturated color, roselite is very popular among collectors of minerals .
