Biography
Born in the family of an artisan. In 1949 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies ( Persian branch). He taught at the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies (1949-1954), MGIMO of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1954-1956).
From 1956 he worked at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR : researcher , senior researcher (since 12/25/1964). Since 1970, he headed the Iranian sector at the institute. In 1989, he lectured in Denver ( USA ).
Family
Wife (since 1953) - Vera Aramovna, nee. Agababova (1927–2010), physician. Children:
- Zaven (born 1957)
- Mariana, in marriage Chubarov (1961-2003).
Scientific Activities
September 30, 1962 he defended his thesis ] (“The Social and Economic Roots of the Monarchy of Reza Shah and the Reactionary Essence of Its Economic Policy”).
November 26, 1982 he defended his doctoral thesis ("Changes in the sectoral structure of the national economy of Iran in the 60-70 years.", In 2 volumes).
Author of more than 100 scientific papers.
The articles were included in the collections “Iran: Islam and Power”, “Islam in the Modern East” and others.
