Tomsk State Pedagogical University

In its development, Tomsk State Pedagogical University went through a number of stages:

• From 1902 to 1920 there was the Tomsk Teachers' Institute, which gave its graduates secondary vocational and pedagogical education.
• In June 1917, by the decision of the Provisional Government, the teacher's institute acquired the status of a higher educational institution, but was temporarily closed on November 1, 1920 by the decision of the commission of the Tomsk provincial department of public education ^[3] .
• In 1930, by the decision of the People's Commissariat of the RSFSR, a pedagogical faculty was created at Tomsk State University ^[4] .
• According to the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR of July 13, 1931 No. 735, the TSU Pedagogical Department was transformed into the Tomsk Industrial Pedagogical Institute ^[5] , which was moved in 1932 to the walls of its predecessor, the Teacher’s Institute ^[6] . From June 15, 1933, in all documents of the university, instead of the name “Tomsk Industrial Pedagogical Institute”, another name began to be used: “Tomsk State Pedagogical Institute” ^[7] .
• October 23, 1968 the Institute was named after the Lenin Komsomol ^{[8] [9]} .
• On November 19, 1981, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR for the successes achieved in the training of teachers university was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor ^[10] .
• June 26, 1995, by order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation No. 352, Tomsk State Pedagogical Institute was granted university status. On November 2-4 of the same year, a solemn presentation of the new university took place ^[11] .

The scientific journal "Bulletin of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University" was founded in 1997. Library

Scientific Library named after A.M. Volkova TSPU has more than 921.9 thousand storage units (data as of 01/01/2018). Every year, library funds are replenished by educational and scientific literature published by the publishing house and university teachers, purchases of new educational and scientific literature and private gifts. The library has a collection of rare books. The structure of the library includes a department of acquisition and processing of literature, a bibliographic information center (BIC), a service department, and a computer technology department.

The museum complex of TSPU includes 10 museums ^[12] :

• Museum of the writer-storyteller A. Volkov (graduate of the Tomsk Teachers' Institute).

Picture Gallery

• The TSPU art gallery was opened on March 11, 2004. Initially, in 2004-2010, it was located in the 8th building of the university. Since 2011, it is located in the 9th building of the university. During the year, 4-5 expositions of fine and decorative art of Siberian artists are being exhibited (including graduates of TSPU). ^{[ significance of fact? ]}
