Biography
Yakov Amazaspovich Manandyan graduated from Friedrich Schiller Jena University in 1897, St. Petersburg University in 1898, and University of Tartu in 1909. Until 1919 he taught at various schools, seminaries, gymnasiums in Georgia , Armenia and Azerbaijan . In 1925 he became a professor, in 1939 an academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences , in 1943 an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR . From 1920 to 1930 he worked and taught at Yerevan State University .
Scientific work
The main works of Ya. A. Manadyan are devoted to the history of Armenia of the ancient and medieval periods, philology and culture.
