Career

Jess Carver began his career at the Blackburn Rovers club, for which he spent 1 match, and that club took 8th place in the first division that season , and then Carver moved to the Newcastle United club, making his debut in August 1936 in match against Barnsley club. Carver’s greatest achievement at Newcastle was 4th in the second division , with United Carver playing 70 matches in the league and 6 in the FA Cup. Carver’s career ended with the outbreak of World War II , during which he worked as a policeman.

After the war ended, in 1946, Carver began working as a coach, becoming an assistant at the Huddersfield Town club, in the same year he went to the Netherlands , where he worked at the Xerxes club, and then in the Dutch team . In 1948, Carver returned to England and took over the reins of the Millwall club. A year later, Carver left for Italy , heading the Juventus club, with whom he became the country's champion in the first season, interrupting the 15-year-long series in the club’s history without a scudetto. The next Carver was released from the team and left for his homeland, where he worked for a short time with the West Bromwich Albion club. In mid-1951, Carver returned to Italy, where he helped the Marzotto (Valdagno) club, which entered Serie B , maintain a “residence permit” in the second Italian division.

In 1953, after a one-year break, Carver again headed the Italian club - Torino , but after one season he left the club, accepting the offer of Roma , then he worked at Lazio and in his homeland, at the Coventry City club, and then again in Lazio, with whom he took 3rd place. This success allowed Carver to be hired by the president of the Internationale club, Angelo Moratti , who set a goal for Carver to win the Scudetto, but Inter performed depressingly, took only 9th place, and the Englishman was fired. In 1959, Carvera hired the Genoa club, but after working for about six months, Jess was again fired, losing the home match to Juventus with a score of 2: 6. The last club in Italy for Carver was Lazio, who spent the ending of the 1960/61 season with a mentor. In the 1962/63 season, Carver coached the Greek APOEL .
