Norakuro

Norakuro ( の ら く ろ norakuro ) is a comedic manga by Suiho Tagawa and a later anime about the adventures of a dog named Norakuro. The word "Norakuro" is derived from norainu ( Japanese 野 良 犬 , "stray dog") and Kurokiti ( Japanese 黒 吉 , dog name, literally "black luck") . This manga had a strong influence on Matiko Hasegawa , the author of Sazae-san , who studied with Suiho Tagawa. Norakuro was not translated into European languages, although excerpts in English were published in the sixth issue of Kramer's Ergot comic book anthology. [one]

Norakuro is a dog army soldier who is part of the Ferocious Dog Battalion ( я 連隊 mo: kenrentai ) . The action takes place in 1931, and the military images are partially based on the Imperial Army of Japan , where Suiho Tagawa himself served from 1919 to 1922. In his story, Norakuro gradually goes from a regular private to a sergeant. During World War II, the publication of manga was discontinued, but then, due to the high popularity of history, resumed. Norakuro gradually mastered other professions and activities - for example, sumo . This character became the talisman of developing Japanese militarism [2] .
