Short-legged tritons [1] ( lat. Pachytriton ) is a genus of tritons from the family of real salamanders ( lat. Salamandridae ) of the caudate amphibian order. Initially it was thought that this genus was close to Euproctus , but by the course of molecular research, it was found to be close to East Asian and warty newts .

Description
Representatives of this kind have smooth skin without a prominent spine. The tail is flattened from the sides. The skull is long and wide.
