Vladimir Leonov (born April 26, 1987 , Donetsk , Rostov Region ) is a Russian motorcycle racer, the first Russian pilot to participate in the World Ring Motor Racing Championship (class 250 cm³).

Biography
From the age of 12 he takes part in motorcycling competitions. At the age of 14, he participated in the Russian Motocross Championship on an 80 cc motorcycle. In 2004 - the winner of the amateur Motocross Cup of Russia in the motorcycle class up to 125cc. In 2005 - winner of the amateur Motocross Cup of Russia in the motorcycle class up to 250cc. Since the end of 2006, Vladimir has been a member of the Vector Racing team. In 2009, Vladimir Leonov participated in the MotoGP World Championship in the 250 cm³ class as part of the Viessmann Kiefer Racing Team.
In 2010, Vladimir Leonov participated in the new Moto2 class of the MotoGP World Championship, with an engine capacity of 600 cc. By the way, the team for which he played in the world series was sponsored by his native team - Vector Racing, the strongest road racing and motorcycle racing team in Russia, which for the first time in 50 years represented Russia in prestigious international series (IDM, WSBK, MotoGP).
From 2011 to 2014, he was a pilot of the Yakhnich Motorsport team , in which in 2011 he took 3rd place in the Italian Championship (CIV), category Superstock 600. In 2011, on a wild card, he took part in two stages of the WSBK World Championship, Supersport class. From 2012 to 2014 - a regular participant in the WSBK World Championship, Supersport class. In 2012, he took 3rd place at the stage in the Dutch Assen and 3rd place at the Russian stage on the Moscow Raceway. In 2014, he won 3rd place in the Italian Imola. In 2011 - the winner of the one-stage European Cup Coppa Dei Due Paesi.
In 2014, Vladimir Leonov, as a reserve racer, took part in the qualification of the 24 Hours of Le Mans motorcycle race as part of the R2CL team, which overall took 8th place. [1] [2] [3]
