History
It was formed on October 10, 1943 in the north-western direction on the basis of the directive of the Supreme Command Headquarters Directive of October 1, 1943 on the basis of the field control of the Bryansk Front (3rd formation).
The main task of the front was to prepare an offensive for the defeat of the German army group "North" .
On October 20, 1943, on the basis of the order of the Supreme High Command Headquarters of October 16, 1943, the front was renamed the 2nd Baltic Front .
