Presentationism

Presentism (from the English present - to be present ) - a situation in which an employee spends more time at the workplace than is necessary or required by the terms of the labor agreement. Usually, this refers to the behavior of a sick employee who, most often because of fears of losing his job, continues to go to work, but due to poor health, he works less efficiently than usual. The term is formed by analogy with the earlier term absenteeism .

According to some research data, about 60% of production losses due to illnesses of workers are associated not with their absence in the workplace, but with an ineffective presence caused by presentism [1] .
