Ural Murtazovich Rakhimov ( Bashk. Ural Mortaza uly Rikhimov ; December 13, 1961 , Ufa , Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic ) - former General Director of ANK Bashneft , deputy of the State Assembly - Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan in 2003–2010. Biography

Ural Rakhimov was born on December 13, 1961 in Ufa [1] . The son of the first President of the Republic of Bashkortostan Murtaza Gubaidullovich Rakhimov and Louise Galimovna Rakhimova [1] .

In 1984 he graduated from the Ufa Oil Institute [2] . Then he studied in France at the French Institute of Petroleum [1] . After receiving a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania ( MS University of Pennsylvania ).

From 1995 to 1999 - Vice President, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OJSC Bashneftekhim .

According to sociologist Olga Kryshtanovskaya , by the end of the 1990s, in Bashkiria

Criminal case

In April 2014, a criminal case was opened against Ural Rakhimov. At the end of August 2014, he was charged in absentia with the legalization of illegally received money (Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code) and appropriation on a large scale (Article 160 of the Criminal Code). The investigation of the criminal case continues, and in May 2017 it was extended for another three months until October 28, 2017 [15] .

Rakhimov is accused of misappropriation and legalization of Bashneft shares. The structures controlled by him after the privatization of the enterprises of the Bashkir fuel and energy complex in 2005 and 2009 were sold to them by Sistema.

In September 2014, Rakhimov was put on the international wanted list [16] .

In May 2015, the Austrian authorities received a request for the extradition of Ural Rakhimov. In March 2016, the Vienna Land Court in criminal cases on February 17, at the request of the prosecutor's office, decided not to extradite Rakhimov of the Russian Federation due to political motives in criminal prosecution [17] .
