Multifractal

A multifractal is a complex fractal that can be determined not only by a single construction algorithm, but by several successive successive algorithms. Each of them generates a pattern with its fractal dimension. Subject of study of multifractal analysis . To describe a multifractal, a multifractal spectrum is calculated that includes a number of fractal dimensions inherent in the elements of a given multifractal.

Multifractals are also used to model price behavior similar to market systems (commodity, financial markets). An article by Benoit Mandelbrot in Scientific American (February 1999, “A Multifractal Walk on Wall Street”) [1] clearly demonstrates this similarity.
