Biography

Elizabeth Moon, nee Susan Elizabeth Norris, grew up in a small town in Texas , 250 miles south of San Antonio , 8 miles from the border with Mexico . Her parents divorced soon after her birth, and her mother raised Elizabeth alone. Elizabeth wrote her first work at the age of 6, it was a story about her dog [4] .

In 1968, after graduating from Rice University in Houston with a bachelor ’s degree in history, Elizabeth Moon joined the United States Marine Corps . After the expiration of the contract in 1971, Mun retired to the reserve in the rank of lieutenant.

In 1969 she married Richard Sloan Moon ( Richard Sloan Moon ), and in 1983 their son Michael was born.

At the University of Texas at Austin, she received a bachelor's degree in biology, then spent two years doing research.

Elizabeth Moon worked for six years in an ambulance, for four years she served as an elected city alderman.

Creativity

As a writer, Elizabeth Moon made her debut in 1988, when her novel Mercenary Sword ( Eng. Sheepfarmer's Daughter ) and its sequel, The Mercenary Oath ( Eng. Divided Allegiance ) (1988), came out.
