Payligan

Peyligan Culture (裴李崗文化, Péilǐgāng Wénhuà) is a group of Neolithic communities that existed in the Lo River Basin in Henan Province in China from about 7,000 to 5,000 years. BC er Culture got its name from the village of Paleygan, where in 1977 a Neolithic settlement was discovered.

According to archaeologists, the Paleygan culture was not politically centralized. The way of life of its carriers is predominantly agricultural: they cultivated millet and mogar , bred pigs . It was one of the oldest cultures in China, which began producing ceramics .

By the beginning of the XXI century, more than 70 settlements were found associated with this culture, including the archeological monument of Jiahu , where signs known as Jiahu writing were found.
