Palazzo Publico (San Marino)

The Palazzo Publico ( Italian: Palazzo Publico , People's Palace ) is the residence of the government of San Marino and the City Hall of San Marino , located in this city.

The building is used for official ceremonies and is the seat of the General Council , captains regents , the Council of the Twelve and the State Congress.

It was built in the style of a medieval Italian palazzo in 1884 - 1894 by the architect Francesco Addzurri on the site of the old government residence of lat. Domus Magna Comunis (House of Great Communes). Gradually, the building ceased to meet safety standards and a comprehensive reconstruction was required, which was completed on September 30, 1996 under the direction of Gae Aulenti .
