Story

A long time ago, two babies were sent to Earth from two planets that sucked into a black hole . Involuntarily, they began rivalry still in space. One of them ended up in a cozy home and in a beautiful family. Another was imprisoned for criminal talent, where he was brought up by inmates. At school, the children met again and were opposed to each other again. One who, in view of his supernormal abilities and attractive appearance, always had authority among people, called himself Metromen (Machomen in Russian dubbing). The other, thin and weak, with blue skin and a huge head, but a brilliant scientist and inventor with the highest level of intelligence, who also wanted to do good, but after many failures (he was always ahead of Metromen) chose evil, called himself Megamind. His helper is a sensible fish from his home planet - the Servant, presented to Megamind by his parents.

It takes many years. It all starts with a holiday in honor of the hero of the city Metro City Metromena and the opening of its museum. But at the same time, Megamind escapes from prison and, with the help of the Minion, he kidnaps TV presenter Roxana Richie. It seems that everything should end in another failure of Megamind. But luck is on the side of evil, because Metromen has lost all his strength, being in a dome covered with copper, and Megamind, without waiting for it, destroys Metromen. But what to do next? This is clearly not included in the plans of Megamind. After all, a supervillain can't be without a superhero! Megamind, having received Metroman's DNA, decides to create for itself a new enemy, Titan, who is to become the new savior of Metro-City. He wants to give the power of Metroman a strong-willed person with high moral principles. But by coincidence, the object of the Megamind experiment is accidentally becoming the stupid and cowardly cameraman Hal Stewart, in love with Roxanne. Pretending to be Hal's “cosmic dad”, Megamind begins to train the “son”, and he successfully passes the exams.

But Megamind did not know that Hal wanted to win Roxana’s heart with superpower and “coolness”. However, she did not reciprocate, especially since she was already indifferent to Megamind, who secretly met her under the guise of Bernard (the harmful and skeptical supervisor of the museum). Romantic relationships make Megamind almost abandon the villainous profession, and he even quarrels with the Servant because of this. Roxana and Megamind in the guise of Bernard go on a date and kiss. During the kiss, Roxana accidentally removes her camouflage, and so Megamind was exposed. Before that, Hal saw Roxana and “Bernard” together on a date and, frustrated, decides to take the side of evil. Roxana runs out of the restaurant, but on the street from a conversation with Megamind realizes the sincerity of his feelings. They disperse, and Megamind again attacks the city, wanting to fight with Titan. But Titan became an ordinary robber and suggested that the Megamind be united. Megamind tells him the whole truth, so that Titan becomes enraged and attacks his mentor. And Megamind continues to play the role of a supervillain, and Titan is going to really kill him. Umbotas enclose Titan in a copper ball, but copper does not act on it. Megamind goes to the man who knew Metromen best of all - to Roxanne.

In search of the weak points of Titan, Megamind and Roxanne come to Metroman's secret refuge.

Suddenly, it turns out that Metromen actually did not die at all, but simply decided to finally give way to Megamozg, having staged his death. He was tired of this constant performance, which they played with Megamind. He was generally tired of being a superman for others, since he didn’t feel happy because of that. Metromen chose another path for himself - a musician. He called himself Musicman, arguing that the patch on the costume would not have to be changed. The musicman settled in the bunker under his old school, where he once studied in the same class as Megamind.

Roxana and Megamind call for Metromen-Musicman’s help, but he is adamant. Musickman suggests Megamind to deal with everything himself, subconsciously realizing that he himself is to blame for the fact that Megamind has become a supervillain. Megamind, which was constantly a lonely outcast and suffered greatly from it, lost heart and returned home - to the prison from which he escaped. Titan kidnaps Roxana in order to blackmail Megamind, just as Megamind earlier kidnapped her to summon Musicman. Megamind decides to save Roxanne and, along with the Minion (with whom he managed to make peace), goes to battle with Titan. Megamind saves Roxanne, but gets injured, and Titan is ready to destroy them. But Metroman is suddenly announced, and Titan flies away in a panic. Roxana discovers that it is not Megamind that is wounded, but the Servant, and realizes that Metromen is a disguised Megamind. He chases away Titan, but he gets the wrong pronunciation of the name of the city (Metro City instead of Metro City), and the fight ends with the fact that Hal loses his abilities. Later the relationship of Megamind and Roxanes become closer. Megamind rebuilds the ruined city, which Metroman wouldn’t do, and opens its own museum (even Musicman came to the opening). The entire city, including Hal, who was sent to the prison cell of Megamind, is dancing to the song of Michael Jackson “ Bad ”. Megamind became the new defender of Metro City.
