Biography
Born on February 6, 1918 in the village of Lyubovka, Saratov Province (now Kalininsky District , Saratov Region ) [1] [2] . From 1932 he worked in Saratov as a plasterer and at the same time studied at an evening school [1] .
In 1940 he was drafted into the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army [1] . In the battles of World War II since 1942 . Fought on the Western , South-Western , Central and Belarusian fronts. Was injured.
In September 1943, he distinguished himself in the battle for the village of Posudovo in the Bragin district of the Gomel region of Belarus .
On November 22, 1943, in a battle near the working village Vasilevichy (now the city) of the Gomel region of Belarus Guards, senior sergeant A. G. Kozlov died a brave death [1] .
Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated December 24, 1943 for bravery and courage shown during the crossing of the River of Dreams and in the battles for keeping the bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper Guards Senior Sergeant Kozlov Alexander Gerasimovich awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union [1] .
He was buried in the town of Vasilevichy, Gomel Region, Belarus [1] .
