Biography
Great-grandson of the founder of the automobile company " Opel " Adam Opel . At the beginning of his racing career he acted under the pseudonym "Antonio Bronco", but after the first successes in Formula Ford in 1970 he began to start under his real name. In 1971 he made his debut in "Formula 3" , in which the following year he won the British championship "Lombard North Central" and the second winner of the championship "Forward Trust" behind the wheel of the car of the Ensign team. When in 1973 the Ensign moved from Formula 3 to the Formula 1 World Championship, von Opel also came to the world championship. Six starts at Ensign did not bring points, and in early 1974, von Opel joined the Brabham team , where he also failed to achieve results, in six stages he was unable to rise above the twentieth place at the start and finished twice in ninth place. At the end of the season, Von Opel ended his racing career.
