Magnus-Wilhelm von Nirod, a Swedish major, was raised on February 5, 1687, by King Charles XI , to the dignity of the Kingdom of Sweden . In 1710, as a colonel, he signed the surrender of the surrender of the Revel to the Russian troops and entered the Russian service. From him come the barons of Niroda [1] .
Carl von Nirod, the Swedish lieutenant general, was elevated to the rank of count by Charles XII in 1706, first to the baronial, and a few months later to the count's dignity. From him descend the counts of Niroda [1] .
In Sweden there is a noble family of Niroth, descending from John Niroth, who died in 1628 and left two sons: John and Shemert, whom Queen Christina raised on September 20, 1648 and October 30, 1652 in noble dignity. Their offspring adopted the Orthodox faith [1] .
The clan of barons Nirod, coming from the Swedish major Magnus-Wilhelm, and the clan of counts Nirod are included in the fifth part of the genealogy book of the Estland province .

In the golden field there are three diagonal blue stripes, from the upper right to the lower left. On the shield there is a noble helmet and on it are two ostrich feathers, the right gold, the left blue. Basting blue, lined with gold [1] .

The shield is divided into four parts. In the first and fourth parts, in a golden field there are two blue horizontal stripes, and below them a blue lily. The second part is divided horizontally into two unequal fields. Lower, smaller field, staggered, red with silver. The upper larger red field and the golden rafter in it. The third part is also divided into two unequal fields. Upper, smaller field, staggered, red with silver. The lower, larger field, red and in it the lion in the noble crown, turned to the right, holds a golden halberd in his right paw. In the middle of the coat of arms there is a shield with the noble coat of arms of the surname Nirod. On the whole coat of arms is the baronial crown and on it are two helmets with noble crowns. On the right helmet are two ostrich feathers, the right gold, the left blue. From the left helmet comes out, the lion turned to the right with a wide, red mouth and a red tongue sticking out. The bastard on the right is red, lined with silver, on the left is blue, lined with gold. Shield holders: two gold fingerboards [1] .

Four-part shield with a shield in the middle; the middle shield is golden, divided by three azure bandages. In the main shield in the first and fourth, golden parts, two azure belts, accompanied at the extremity by the same lily. In the second part, a scarlet, golden lion with azure eyes and tongue, holding a silver reed with a curved shaft; the tip of the piece is divided by three rows of chess, silver and scarlet. In the third, scarlet part, a golden lion with azure eyes and a tongue, holding a silver reed with a curved shaft; the head of the piece is divided in three rows by chess, silver and scarlet.
The shield is crowned with the count's crown and three count's crowned helmets. Crests: the first - two ostrich feathers, gold and azure; the second is the emerging golden lion, with azure eyes and tongue; the third is a Polish warrior galloping on a silver horse, in scarlet clothes and with a raised silver curved sword. Names: middle - azure with gold, right - scarlet, with gold, left - azure, with gold. The coat of arms is held by two golden fingerboards, with scarlet eyes and tongue. The coat of arms of the Nirod clan, having the title of the Swedish Kingdom of Counts, is included in Part 11 of the General Herbarium of the noble families of the All-Russian Empire, p. 46.

- Karl Gustav von Nirot (circa 1650 - January 25, 1712) - Swedish military leader, governor general of Estonia (1709-1710) and Finland (1710-1712).

- Maximilian Evstafievich (1848-1914) - Privy Councilor, Jägermeister, member of the State Council from the Volyn Zemstvo (1913)
- Fedor Maximilianovich (1871-1952) - major general, hero of the First World War, white emigrant.
- Mauritius (Mikhail) Evstafievich (1852-1930) - Assistant Minister of the Imperial Court, Stalmeister. In exile in France.
- Alexei Mikhailovich (1882-1904), midshipman, junior navigational officer of the cruiser " Varyag ". He died on January 26, 1904 in the battle of Chemulpo . The remains of the officer were left on the dying cruiser and shared the fate of the ship.
- Georgy Mikhailovich (1884-1905), midshipman, junior navigational officer of the cruiser Svetlana . Killed in the battle of Tsushima .
