Davey Havok ( November 20, 1975 ) is an American musician, vocalist, creator and regular member of the alternative rock band AFI , electronic band Blaqk Audio , hardcore band XTRMST and new wave band Dreamcar. [1] Havok is a staunch supporter of the straight edge and vegan lifestyle. [2] [3]

The early years
David Paden Marchand , known as Davy Havok, was born in Rochester , New York , in the family of Penny and Paul Passaro. When David was five years old, his father died and he took the surname of stepfather Marchand. At the age of six, he moved with his family from Rochester to Ukiah , California . There he attended a Catholic school until the 8th grade. After high school, Havok studied at the University of California at Berkeley in the areas of " English " and " Psychology ". After a second year at the university, his career with AFI began to develop rapidly and he did not finish his studies.
Musical career
AFI
Davy Havok and his friends Mark Stopholese and Vic Chalker decided to create a group when they were at school and still did not know how to play instruments. Adam Carson was invited to replace the drummer, marking the beginning of the AFI story. In 1995, the group released their first album Answer That and Stay Fashionable , then Very Proud of Ya in 1996, Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes in 1997, Black Sails in the Sunset in 1999, on which the group first worked in its current composition: Havok, Carson, Hunter Burgan and Jade Puget. In 2000, the album The Art of Drowning was released, in 2003 - Sing the Sorrow , which brought the group fame around the world. After the release of the album Decemberunderground in 2006, the group went on a world tour. In 2013, Burials released the 9th album, and in 2017, The Blood Album was released.
Blaqk Audio
In 2007, electronic side project by Davy and guitarist AFI Jade Puget released the album CexCells, after which Blaqk Audio went on a tour of America and Canada. In September 2012, the album Bright Black Heaven was released, and the album Material in April 2016.
XTRMST
XTRMST, formed in 2014 by Havok and guitarist Jade Puget, released the self-titled straight edge metalcore album.
Dreamcar
In 2016, it became known that Havok, along with former No Doubt members Tom Dumont , Tony Kanal and Adrian Young , created the Dreamcar band. The debut single "Kill for Candy" was released in March 2017, and in April of the same year, the group performed at the Coachella festival.
Guest participation
As a backing vocalist, Davey performed on the 4th album Offspring - Ixnay on the Hombre, for The Transplants in the song “Quick Death”, in many songs of the Tiger Army group, in the songs “Jekyl and Hyde” of The Nerve Agents , “I Don't Wanna Behave ” Dance Hall Crashers ,“ Blue Strip ”by Fury 66,“ Astro-Zombies ” Heckle (cover version of The Misfits ), and he is also a songwriter and former lead singer of Son of Sam.
Other projects
Acting
In 2009, Havok voiced the role of the fallen god Dragos in the animated short story Godkiller. In 2011 played the role of St. Jimmy in the Broadway production of Green Day "American Idiot". In 2012, the musician played a small role in the film Knife Fight.
Literature

The first collection of accessories was released in March 2009 and was also limited - from 10 to 90 items of different designs. In August 2009, Zu Boutique, together with Macbeth, a shoe company, introduced vegan shoes by Davy Hawok.
Protecting Animal Rights
Davy Havok has been a vegan since he was 14 years old and has been constantly involved in Peta’s campaigns to promote a “vegan” lifestyle and combat the use of natural fur and leather. He won the PETA2 World's Sexiest Vegetarian and Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity nominations in 2007, 2015 and 2017. [2] [3]

- Havok is a big fan of Tim Burton 's The Nightmare Before Christmas . “Sleeves” with characters from this film were stuffed on his hands, but in 2016 he blocked them with black [4] .
