William Z. Foster ( born William Z. Foster ; February 25, 1881 - September 1, 1961 ) is a leader of the American workers and communist movement.

In 1929-1934 and 1945-1957 he led the Communist Party of the United States . Three times a presidential candidate from the US Communist Party (1924, 1928, 1932).
Biography
Born in a family of proletarians . Labor began at 10 years old. Member of the Socialist Party of America since 1901, since 1909 member of the Industrial Workers of the world . Honorary Chairman of the US Communist Party, historian of the US Communist Party and the international communist and labor movement. In 1948, along with many other members of the Communist Party, he was brought to trial. However, due to a serious illness, his trial was postponed indefinitely, while he was deprived of the opportunity to receive qualified medical care. Only in 1961, William Z. Foster received permission to travel to the USSR, but this permission was belated, William Foster died the same year in Moscow.
