On July 13, 2004, the Law of the Ulyanovsk Region 043 / ЗО “On Municipalities of the Ulyanovsk Region” was adopted, which granted the city of Ulyanovsk municipal district the status of a city district. [6]
The city of regional significance (urban district) Ulyanovsk borders on the Ulyanovsk and Cherdaklinsky districts , the city of regional significance (urban district) the city of Novoulyanovsk .
The area of the urban district is 628.96 km². [7] [8]
