Printing process

The printing process is the process of repeatedly obtaining prints on carrier sheets (not to be confused with print sheets).

The printing process must include: applying ink to a printing form, feeding paper or other media to the printing form, transferring ink from the printing form onto paper (pressure, inkjet , laser printing), receiving the finished print.

Depending on the technology, the printing process may also include the manufacture of printing plates, cutting media (paper, PVC film, fabric, etc.) from a single roll and others.

Nowadays, large printing machines are capable of performing the entire printing process, as well as some post-printing (for example, scoring , folding , binding) practically without human intervention.
