Story

A new group of astronauts flies off the Earth in search of the previous group, which was mentioned in the first part. But their ship also crashes, and only one survives - Sergeant Brent.

Literally right after the crash, he finds Nova and tries to find out from her where Taylor is, since she had his army badge. For obvious reasons, Nova could not answer him, and together they went to the city of monkeys, where, having met with Zira and Cornelius, they found out where Taylor went about - namely, the so-called "Abandoned City", which is New York .

Once in this city, Brent is in a strange dungeon. He discovers that this is once the subway of New York. He is literally dumbfounded by a terrible hunch: "They blew it up," "... these round-table talks did not lead to anything." He meets a colony of surviving intelligent people who communicate with each other through telepathy and worship a booster rocket with a cobalt warhead ( cobalt bomb (aka “dirty bomb”). These people are characterized by cruelty and composure. At the end of the prayer it was necessary (different translation ) “show your face to your God.” “People” take off their “human” masks, it turns out that they are no longer people, but a disgusting kind of mutants that have changed dramatically over the centuries as a result of exposure.

At the same time, the monkeys went to war on the city, and people, using their only weapon - illusions - could not cope with them. Brent was taken to Taylor. Brent told his travel story, and that two Greek letters "Alpha" and "Omega" are indicated on the rocket. Taylor understands that this bomb will destroy the entire Earth and even more when it explodes. Soon, with the help of his telepathy, the mutant Ongaro Negro forced them to fight to the death. But Nova distracted the telepath, and Brent and Taylor killed the telepath. And then the monkeys came to the city and thereby distracted the rest of the mutant people. Brent and Taylor were able to get out of the cage, falling into the heat of battle. The nova is killed by monkeys, and the female mutant Albina (Natalie Trandi) took poison, so as not to become the prey of the monkeys.

Gorilla warriors are swiftly taking over the city of mutant humans. They break the statues of the Mendez dynasty - the rulers of the city.

The last surviving mutant, the head of the underground city of Mendez XXVI (Mendez 26th), is trying to frighten the monkeys with the “instrument of God,” but the leader of the monkeys, General Ursus, laughs at him and orders him to be killed. Gorilla soldiers dump a rocket and try to attack it. Orangutan Dr. Zayus warns that this is a tool of a person who can carry only evil. Brent dies in a fight with monkeys. Mortally wounded Taylor, falling near the "red button", presses it, producing a rocket explosion.

Further in the finale, a voiceover tells that in one of the countless galaxies in the Universe there is a medium-sized star, and one of its satellites, an insignificant green planet, ceased to exist.
