Nubian Museum ( Arabic: متحف النوبة , Eng. Nubian Museum ) - a museum of the history and culture of Nubia in the city of Aswan , ( Upper Egypt ).

General information
The museum is located on the outskirts of Aswan, in the southern part of it, and covers an area of 50 thousand m², of which 7 thousand m² account for exhibition halls, library, study rooms and other. The remaining area is occupied by a green park around the building. The head of the museum since its foundation is a famous Egyptologist, professor Ossama Abd al-Majid.
Exhibits
Part of the exhibits of the Cairo Egyptian Museum was transferred to the museum . The exposition of the Nubian Museum shows the history of Nubia from primitive times to the present day. Also on display are archaeological finds made on Elephantine and in the vicinity of Aswan.
The collection of the museum has more than 3 thousand exhibits, divided into 5 departments:
- prehistoric,
- Ancient Egyptian and Nubian,
- antique and roman
- Coptic and Islamic.
In the exhibition halls, the most numerous collections are Egyptian (503 objects) and Nubian (140 objects) antiquities.
Among other rarities, the crowns of Nubian rulers, made from precious metals and stones made of precious metals and stones, as well as gold household items and jewelry obtained during excavations in the tombs of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom in Upper Egypt, are presented here . The abundance of rich finds also indicates the importance that Nubia played in antiquity as a link in trade and other relations between Ancient Egypt - on the one hand, and the areas of present-day Ethiopia and Somalia - on the other.
