Biography

In 1937, Yu. A. Fedosyuk entered IFLI . He graduated from the institute in 1941 , after which he served in the army for five years.

Since 1946, he worked in the All-Union Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (VOKS), then in the Sovinformburo , the News Agency . While working at VOKS, Moscow studies of Fedosyuk began, in which he was helped by the famous historian and Moscow scholar Pyotr Sytin .

Fedosyuk’s articles on local history about Moscow were published in the journals Voprosy istorii , Nauka i Zhizn , and others.

In addition, the scientist was engaged in linguistic research, in particular, the study of surnames , and in recent years he worked on the book “What is not clear to the classics? Difficult words and concepts ”, which he graduated in 1989.

He participated in the activities of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture , the Commission on the History of Moscow Streets and other organizations.

He lectured about Moscow.

He died in 1993, was buried at the Vvedensky cemetery in Moscow.
