Alexander Vasilievich Polukarov (born November 27, 1959 , Lugansk , Ukrainian SSR , USSR ) is a Soviet and Russian footballer , a Russian football coach. Master of Sports of the USSR (1980).

Biography
Pupil of Lugansk "Dawn" . The first coach is B.V. Fomichev.
In 1977-1979 he played for Zarya in the USSR Championship. In 1980 he moved to the Moscow Torpedo , where he spent 12 years, since 1986 he was captain. Spent 319 matches in the major league for the team, scored 21 goals.
In 1991, together with Dynamo Moscow goalkeeper Alexander Uvarov, he accepted the invitation of the Tel Aviv-based Maccabi club , which was headed by Abraham Grant since 1990. The debut in the new team was unsuccessful - the team lost to Beitar from Tel Aviv with a score of 2: 3, and Polukarov himself was removed at the end of the game [1] . Having missed 2 matches of the championship, he firmly took a place in the first team. According to the results of the first season, he became the champion of Israel, and this title was won for 4 rounds before the end of the championship. In the Israel Cup final, Maccabi lost in extra time to Hapoel Petah Tikva 1: 3.
In the next two seasons for “Maccabi” he was twice a silver medalist, and in 1994 won the Israel Cup.
Herzliya spent the 1994/95 season at the Israeli Major League Club Maccabi , having played 20 games in a season. Since 1995 (with a break) he played for the Maccabi club (Ironi Ashdod) [2] . The last game season in Israel (1997/98) was played for the 1st League club Bnei Sakhnin .
During his entire playing career he spent 23 matches in European competitions ( Champions League - 4, Cup of Cups - 11, UEFA Cup - 8) [3] . Twice entered the list of 33 best football players of the season in the USSR - No. 2 (1991), No. 3 (1990).
He was called up to the USSR youth team, vice champion of the World Junior Championship (1979). He was invited to the USSR national team in 1988, however, recent injuries to his knee interfered with performances in the national team [4] .
In 1998 he returned to Russia and accepted the invitation of the club of the second league “Torpedo-ZIL” . He made his debut on August 11, 1998 in a home game against Spartak 2 (Moscow) and helped her win 1-0 [5] . By the end of the year, he again suffered a knee injury, which ultimately forced him to end his career and switch to coaching in his native club.
In 1985 he graduated from the Moscow Regional State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports . Graduate of the Graduate School of Trainers (2000).
From 2001 to 2010 he worked as a trainer in the club "Moscow" [4] . On August 26, 2007, in connection with the disqualification of Moscow head coach Leonid Slutsky and his assistant Sergei Shustikov, he led the team in the Russian Championship match [6] [7] . On February 22, 2010, after removing the club from the Russian championship, he was appointed responsible for training football players who did not have time to find work in other clubs [8] . Then he was unemployed for a long time, he spent time at the dacha in the Tula region.
In the winter of 2010/2011 he took part in the veteran tournament “Eternal Stars”. During the tournament, he often met and talked with Alexander Tukmanov, who invited him to the post of head of the Torpedo football school [9] .
Since 2011, he has been the head of the Torpedo branch of the youth school of Youth of Moscow, which operates under the auspices of Moscomsport. The branch is based on the Stadium. E.A. Streltsova .
