Developers

In addition to Vladimir Butenko, the development team also included:

  • Mikhail Flerov - created a translator for FORTRAN-IV
  • Ivan Bobrov
  • Mark Vengerov - created a compiler for C
  • Vadim Maslov - created a programming system in Basic
  • Igor Timkin - transfer to processor 8086

There were about 10 people who later organized the Gamma cooperative.

History

Development began in 1982 . Unlike another well-known Soviet UNIX system ( DEMOS ), the MISS OS was not based on sources of Western origin, but was written from scratch. The system was originally developed for the EU-1010, which was a clone of the French Mitra-15B and produced under license in Hungary . It was also installed on a compatible and more advanced EC-1011, a clone of Mitra-225 . Both of these machines were completely incompatible with other EC line of computers , which were IBM / 360 clones. It was later ported to DCK and IBM PC . However, it could not stand the competition with UNIX. Vladimir Butenko himself in the late 1980s founded the company Stalker Software, later known as CommuniGate Systems , developing the well-known server platform for communications - CommuniGate Pro .
