Quenzel, Conrad (zoologist)

Conrad Quensel ( Swede. Conrad Quensel ; December 10, 1767 - August 2, 1806 ) - Swedish entomologist , professor of natural history at the Stockholm Museum. Grandson of the Swedish astronomer Konrad Kwensel .

He studied the climate, flora and fauna (but especially butterflies ) of Lapland . He started composing the fundamental review “Animals of Sweden” ( Swede. Svensk zoologi ), but died, completing only two volumes published after his death in 1806 and 1823 .
